The name is Gary. I'm a person who likes to be who I am. A 16 year old who just graduated from Montfort Secondary School. I'm now in Ngee Ann Poly studying Mass Communication.
My interests? Making music, watching dramas, blogging, shopping, and the occasional reading.
Montfort Secondary is the proud host of DOS meeting for today and tomorrow, yay.
So in the morning, around 300 principals and top guns from the MOE came down to school. The band was actually to play background music but we got canceled since the VP said we were too loud, sheesh.
Finally after two weeks, we have Chinese lessons. Joshua got chided cause he keep talking to me in class. Noisy la you! :D
Later, History lesson was canceled cause Mr. Yeo had some school affairs to attend to. He gave us a self-study session in the study area.
At 2.30pm, I had no more lessons so i went to the band room. Some technicians from Yamaha came down to check and give a report of the instruments to Ms. Ong.
Parents gave Gerald and I a ride to AMK station. Then we took the train to Yishun, and then 169 to the Sembawang CC. Alif couldn't come with us cause he had A math remedial in the morning, so he came later on.
We met Daniel on the bus. We reached at 9.05am, and were the first to arrive.
Practice was fun. I couldn't bring my instrument home so I had to use SWO's Holton H175. Mr. Ng gave us a theory lesson on intervals before we tried out Saga Candida, followed by Egmont. And, Mr Ng. says we might play Bert Appermont's Gilgamesh next year.
Just before lunch, Alif came. Ate the western set which costs $3. It took damn long to cook la, at least 20 minutes.
After lunch, we rehearsed movement 3 of James Barnes' Third Symphony.
At 2.30pm, the committee members started preparing for the celebration of SSW 2nd birthday. We started off with the games. The game was called find and answer. Each group were given a riddle which would lead to a place in the CC. There, they had to find a committee member who would then give some questions relating to music. When they answered all the questions, they would give the group another riddle leading to the next place. The areas were the lounge, studio storeroom, 2nd floor toilet, 2nd floor corridor, and the staircase behind the badminton court.
Alif and I were assigned to the lounge. We hid behind the sofa, haha. It was amusing when they came in the room, but failed to find us. Group 3 found us first, followed by 1, and then 2. After everyone found us, we turned on the lights and watched Gundam Seed on the TV. (:
After the game, we headed to the kitchen for the food. After eating, Samuel gave the prizes to the group and individual winners. 1st prize for individuals was none other than Vimal. He is now the proud winner of a custom-made SSW cap and a dummy 6280 phone, woohoo!
For a few days now, the first lesson of each day has always been used by the Mr. Simen to talk to us. As a result, we are falling behind with the syllabus.
Well, i can't say that i'm totally sad, haha.
Anyway, we recently received this donation draw thing to sell during CNY. We were given three booklets of 10, with each ticket costing $2. Sad to say that I haven't even sold 1 ticket. I don't know about the rest of the classes, but Mrs. Lee considers the 30 tickets sold and expects $60 by tomorrow. How ridiculous is that!
I guess I'll have to fork out my own money. On the bright side, i might stand a higher chance of winning the 10k cash price, lol.
Band practice after school today. We had sectionals until 5pm, when we had combined band. Ms. Ong wanted to listen to our Sunrise. The section which doesn't perform up to standard would have to stay back in school for their own extra practice tomorrow.
- Went to school as usual - Lion dance during morning assembly - CNY celebration in the school hall - Physics SPA after dismissal - Bio test in Physics Lab - Home to bathe - Left with Gerald for VivoCity - Met the Fu Yuan, Lemuel, Aaron, Rainald, Joshua, Benjamin, and Amos at the E-zone - Played games at the arcade - Watched the 5pm show of Just Follow Law - Had dinner at Secret Recipe - Rainald and the clarinet juniors went home - Tried to get some clothes but most shops were closed - Went to the Sky Garden - Home
Really busy these days, or maybe I'm just plain lazy.
Nevermind.
School today was okay. We played the National Anthem and School Song in the morning up at the corridor beside the hall. Sound projection was better this time, possibly because of the echo.
It's only the second month of the year and i've already flunked 3 tests, Geography, E Maths, and Physics. What a great start to Sec 3 life. Bio test coming up this thursday. This time, I'm gonna study and make sure i score well.
Physics remedial tomorrow morning at 7.30am. Even though it's for those who scored single digits for the test, I'm gonna go anyway. 3/4 of the class failed by the way. Now I need a good mentor for Physics. Anyone vying for the job?
Speaking of Physics, Mr. Tan is damn boring. During each of his lessons, we always get tired fast, and obviously can't concentrate. His 'boring power' is top-notch.
And coffee doesn't help. Here's something interesting about the canned coffee sold in the canteen. (courtesy of Alif's 'research')
- iCafe Iced French Vanilla Coffee - 30 mins max - Nescafe Latte - 50 mins max
See? It doesn't do any good. Now must find a way to keep myself alert during Physics class.
Band again after school. Thanks to the DOS meeting on the 27th and 28th of this month, the originallycanceledpracticeonWednesdayduetoitbeingvalentine'sday cropped up again, zzz. So, on those days, we would be playing light music for the principals coming in to our school from 7.30am to 8am as they enter the school hall.
----------
Today, Mr. Simen put some of his pictures from childhood to adulthood on a board and left it in the study area for all to see.
See what he wrote, lol! At least he has a sense of humour.
We had morning assembly in the parade square as usual. This time, we only sang Majulah Singapura once, yay!
Next, we started practicing some cheers, led by none other than Mr. Simen Lourds. He even played the guitar, haha.
At 10.30am, the lower sec went for their 1 hour recess while we, the upper sec went back for our lessons. At 11.30am, we went for our 1 hour recess. Meanwhile, Darren came and announced that the game we would be going to would be changed to Sepak Takraw. From Softball to Rugby to Sepak Takraw, zzz. Mr. Faizan keep changing.
So, after recess at 12.30am, those classes going for the Sepak Takraw game went to the foyer to assemble. We got on the buses after that.
I'm lazy to elaborate more, so let the pictures do the rest. :D
We were given this referendum-like form today. On it, we were suppose to declare that we would agree to be educated by MSS and abide all the rules. If not, we were told to look for another school, zzz. Its obvious what we would do, not like we have any choice anyway.
Bio practical again today. Jiong Le didn't come, so i had do the experiment myself, haha. Osmosis again, but this time with chinese leeks. Speaking of practicals, we just got back the copper sulphate crystals we made for Chem prac last week.
Copper Sulphate crystal

Band again today. Tried out some new pieces.
Sometime this month, they'll be many principals coming to visit our school. And we're going to be playing songs for about 45 minutes for them. Some of the selected pieces are A Whole New World, When You Believe, Abba Gold, Gently Touch the Sky, Concerto Damore, and Canon in D.
Today was the first day of the 'training camp' for Sec 1s. The Sec 3s were in charge but everything was overlooked by the ex-cos.
Went to school at 8.40am, and saw Kamal, Hong Zheng, and Jeremy playing soccer. We then headed down to the field to play soccer. Oh, and I played tennis with Kamal. We were joined by Aaron, Gerald, and Joshua later.
At 9.15am, we went to the parade ground for fall in.
We started the day off with icebreaker games. Jeremy's group was in charge. The games in the carpark all so lame, haha. Later, we went to the field to play soccer and captain-ball.
Next, we had a 10 minute break followed by foot drill. It was taken by Joshua's group.
After foot drill, my group went to buy lunch. We wasted alot of time, trying to find a halal chicken rice store. In the end, we found out we didn't have enough money, so Ray had to run over the pass us some money. Zhen Hui, Jia Wei, and I sat down for about 30 minutes waiting for them to prepare the 42 packets of chicken rice.
When we came back, Mr. Sukit was already in school. So we hurry ate, and went in the band room to prepare. The seniors sat beside the juniors while they played to help them. We also went through some tunes from Standard of Excellence.
