NDP celebrations at school
It was National Day Eve yesterday. We had celebrations in the school hall. We played the National Anthem during morning assembly. And well, we messed up.
Possible reasons :
-BM's *ahem* height. It was hard enough to see the conductor when everyone was crammed together.
-We were terribly late. The signature tune had ended before all of us got down.
-Not organized at all. We were not arranged properly and we were all squeezed in one corner of the canteen.
After dismissal at 9.30. We went to the bandroom to gather our things. And Mrs Cassandra Tan had some things to say. First of all, our band was in a crisis. The minimum number of players required for SYF is 45. Currently, our band has 38 members. We were short of 7. Plus, some sec 1s were quitting. We really need to get more members, quick. Apparently, the new batch coming in next year will be playing for SYF. And i seriously doubt they will be ready in time. Our choice pieces are at least Grade 4-5. And all requires alot of basic skills. If they screw up during the competition, our hopes of getting a gold is dashed. Secondly, we might be changing the schedule for band practices. Instead of days 1, 2, 5, it might be 1, 2, 4 or 1, 2, 6.
Some of the band members when to play soccer after that. Well, more like half of the band. Some of us were going for a movie at PS later too. At 12.20, I went back home to bathe and get ready. Met the others at Hougang MRT station. Some guys from NUS asked us for donations because it was Flag Day. Donated $2.
At PS. We saw some of the sec 4 band members there. They were going to watch Lake House with Miss Ong. It was her treat, i suppose. We got the 4.20 tickets for Click! We went to Burger King for lunch. Then we went up to the arcade and walked around until the time the movie starts.
