Hello people! It's been a long, long, long time since I entered the Blogger URL into my address bar. It's the holidays now and I have no job, greatttt.

Anyway, my Internet connection was down for 2 days due to some fault with the modem/router. I can tell you it was rather depressing, not able to Facebook, or check my email. This makes me realise how dependent and attached to the Internet all of us are... something to think about.

I'm not even a FB addict(at least I wouldn't like to think so), but I still felt empty and unconnected. I wonder how the true blue FB addicts will feel D: So to kill some time, I headed to the library for the first time in awhile. I still remember my love of reading from my childhood. Used to read tons and tons of books, leading to my standard of English escalating by leaps and bounds(for that age). Of course now, it's not that spectacular any more.

Ok back to books. I'd like to recommend this author to both book-lovers and book-haters alike. Haruki Murakami, a really good Japanese novelist. I haven't finish the book I borrowed, but I'm going back to read more now. Seems like my old past-time has once again sparked alive in me.

I've been neglecting my blog a lot, so sorry. Haha. Poly life is damn fast sia. It's already the 2nd month though it feels like only a short while. Can't wait for the second sem; I prefer the modules there (;

Anyway, am at Wisma's Starbucks now with Ulysses and Terence, doing our project. Hannah, Nadirah, Amrita, and Pooja from the other group are also here, so it's like a mini class gathering, hahaha. We're like slacking more than doing work la.

GSS is coming~. Being in town makes me feel like shopping, but I gotta resist the temptation, lol.

Finally it's Friday! It has been a super tiring week, with assignments to complete every single day. I guess it will probably get worse, since it's only the 3rd week. Can get ready to say goodbye to my sleep liao, haha.

Poly life is fun though, getting along well with my classmates. Friday's probably the only day we get to relax a little before heading back to our laptops and notes.

Radio production today. Going around school interviewing people is damn fun, hahaha. Had late lunch at King Albert Park's McDonalds with classmates today after tutorial before going to play pool at Bukit Timah Plaza or something. Shawn(E2) and Derek(E3) were also there playing, lol.

K, my life's pretty boring right now. Hope it gets more fun and exciting (;

Something funny happened today.

Nadirah : You know, I just realised how fax works. Last time I thought the machine will take in the paper and roll it up and it goes underground through a wire then will come out on the other side. Then yesterday when I went to fax something, the guy gave me back my paper and I was asking him "Fax already anot? How come you give me back my paper?! You got fax?"

I'm currently stuck in school now because of the JPSAE meeting later on at 5pm, sigh. It seems that I'm only able to blog in school, cause I usually have a lot of time to spare. At home it's just sleep, tv, or doing other things. Haha. I wonder what the meeting is about. Hope they don't force me to join band or anything, cause I got in through that.

Speaking about CCA, the baracuda people finally called me yesterday, yay. Going for interview on Monday. FYI, Baracuda Batucada is NP's percussion ensemble. Hope I get in.

Assignments are really starting to pile up, and it's only the second week. There's already 4 due next week, and more on week 4. Bah, I'm probably going to spend the whole of tomorrow completing my assignments. And I have yet to pick a radio station for my radio report. Don't want to do 987 as it'll be damn common. Anyone knows a good station that I can listen to without boring me? I guess I'm just not a radio person, lol.

My new life

Hey people, I'm finally going to resume posting again, hahaha. It's mainly because I'm bored now and have nothing to do. Well, I actually have a lot of reading to do and some assignments, but there's still time. Am at Makan Place(NP's new foodcourt) with Matthew and his friend now. Since I have nothing better to do, I'm accompanying Matthew until 5.30 for his softball practice. Ok, something random. Subway's my new favourite fast food now, if you can consider it fast. Have been eating it a lot recently, until I told myself 2 days ago(when I last ate it) that I would stop because Subway is not healthy for both my body and my wallet. But... I'm eating it now, hahaha. At least the school's outlet is cheaper... Cookies~

Poly life has been great so far. Super cool campus, great class, and everything. My timetable is pretty relax as well, except for Tuesday(lecture from 9-4), and Wednesday(tutorials from 9-4). Already met almost all my friends who also went to NP too.

Ok thats enough for now, I'll blog again soon enough. (;

impromptu

SWO performance at Istana's CNY Garden Party yesterday. The place was really big and nice. And the portable toilets for the event was damn cool, lol. Got flowers for the smell inside one. And the flush and sink is operated by a foot pump. We rotated 10 pop songs over and over again for like 3 hours, so it's very tiring and painful for the players, haha. But the food there was delicious. I guess it has to be, since it's food for the ministers.

Going to Genting tomorrow for a super short getaway. Will be staying for 1 night before going down to KL for some shopping. This was planned only this afternoon, haha.

Good way to kill some time from the remaining 8 weeks until semester starts. Around 6 if you count in the orientation.

JC has started already. Meaning, most of my friends are busy. Guess I won't be going out that much now. Well, at least I can now save cash and get the things I want, lol.

I got posted to NP's Mass comm, the course I wanted, so I'm pretty happy. The problem is, the semester starts somewhere in April, which is a good 2 months from now. It's damn boring at home, so I think I should be looking for a job soon, haha.

Went back to school with Melvin today. Taught the 2 new horn juniors some basics. It's nice to see the band's spirit is improving. Can't really say the same for their playing though. D:

I'm back, after being MIA for quite some time. Haven't really been busy, just kind of lazy to blog. (;

Went for Mass Comm interview at NP yesterday. It was okay I guess, shall just wait for the results patiently, hahaha.

Then today, there was SSW rehearsal. Side-read a piece, Elegy for Ur before calling it a day. Had lunch at Bishan with some committee people + Shawn. Discussed some things for awhile before heading over to J8's Swensens for our desert, lol. Had Frosted Chocolate Malt... too sweet for my liking. And I treated Eugene to his ice-cream, since his birthday was coming. He said he would pay me back though. I don't mind :b Then Mr A. Ng came over to help configure a computer/workstation for Jonas. Should be going to SLS with them next week to get the parts. Can get my keyboard at the same time.

Jonas and Mr Ng left, and the rest of us went to Yamaha at PS cause Cheng Fu wanted to get some stuff. Didn't get anything at the end though, but we're going to Band World this coming wednesday cause it's cheaper there.

A whole new step in life

Got back O-level results yesterday. Can't say I'm really satisfied, but its still ok. Ask me personally if you wanna know, hahaha. Combined Humans was quite disappointing :/ Math and physics was surprising, lol.

Went out with some class peeps after collecting results. We had dinner first at PS's Ichiban Sushi, then went down to play at the arcade. Then walked to Paradiz Centre for LAN.

4e2'08 is starting to drift further apart already. Yesterday might be the last time I'm seeing some of them. Now we're all going to different places. Outings will be less frequent, then we may lose contact eventually(hope this will not happen, haha). :D

I just though of an idea that will make me blog more often; set blogger as my homepage, lol. That way, everytime I reach home and open my browser, everything is still fresh in my mind for me to blog. Well, lets see whether it works.

Anyway, there was a class outing yesterday. We met at 1pm at city hall MRT. I was late, as well as the others, haha. Only Melvin and Louis were punctual. Had our lunch at Marina Square's Seoul Garden, all the way till 4pm. Then we got tickets for Transporter 3. While waiting for the movie, Poh Shen went high with Alif's camera, going around taking random and stupid photos. The movie wasn't that great. 2 was better, I didn't watch 1, lol.

They felt like playing CS, so we took train to Dhoby Ghaut and walked to Paradiz Centre. We played for quite a long time, all the way to 11pm. So thats like, 3 hours.

Today... went for NP's open house. Met Greg at Hougang MRT, and waited for Jere Tay and Ivan. Went on to Hougang Plaza to meet the rest. Had lunch, and we walked to the nearby bus stop. After missing four 74s on purpose(they only wanted a double-decker one). They had their fun by waving at random people from the bus on the way, hahaha.

The poly was really big, and saw some people whom I know. Nothing much to comment on the open house, as we didn't learn much of anything. Most of the time spent there was on walking aimlessly, lol. The ride to NP was long, but the ride back home was even longer. Dozed off a couple of times on the bus, haha.

Back to school to help out for the open house tomorrow.

First post of 09

I know its quite late already, but happy new year to everyone! 2009 will be a fresh start for me now that I've graduated from secondary school. Results out on the 12th this month. I know it's no use complaining that I haven't studied enough, so I won't. It's too late for stuff like that. Bet I'll be super numb when taking my results, hahaha.

Spent the last day of 2008 at Jonas' place, along with Gerald, Xiao Ting, Tiffany, and Cheng Fu. Oh but before that, I went to City Music again with Jia Wei and Hong Zheng. He got his multi effects pedal and I got my guitar. We stayed there for like an hour cause what HZ couldn't decide what to get, lol. Then took train with them until Serangoon, where I got off and took bus 22 to Jonas' house.

Spent almost a whole 24 hours there watching movies. His house really got tons of movies la o.o. His sound system also very nice. First movie was Pirates of the Carribean : The Black Pearl, on Star Movies. Then we had our dinner, ta pau-ed back by the 2 girls+Jonas. Second one(Dead Man's Chest) was boring, so we watched Phantom of the Opera instead. My first time watching, lol. It's quite nice indeed. Changed back to Star Movies for 3rd PotC. Then Kung Fu Hustle, then Forbidden Kingdom, which ended around 5am. Slept, and woke up at 10.24am. Played some DJmax while waiting for the rest. Ate breakfast, and continued our movie marathon, haha. Started off with 28 days later, but didn't watch the whole thing. Then Shoot 'Em Up. Also didn't watch the whole thing. Continued with 4bia, and lastly, Kung Fu Dunk. I think there's more, but I can't remember -_-. Left his place at 8, took bus to AMK for dinner, and finally went back.

Next day, 2nd Jan. Went back to school to help out. Taught the trumpet juniors, and my own junior. Had lunch at some porridge stall near school with Jeremy, Melvin, and Gerald.

3rd Jan. SSW annual general meeting in the morning. Side-read through the Queen Symphony, a damn nice piece. Rehearsal ended very early, at 1.30pm. Had lunch at the cafe and slacked around a bit. Later, around 3-4, went to Dhoby Ghaut with Jonas, Jocelyn, Cheryl, Tiffany, Cheng Fu, Xiao Ting, Gerald, and Fikri. Bought tickets for Ip Man at the Cathay for the 7.40 show. Since we had plenty of time, we walked back to Dhoby Ghaut Exchange at the station. Had dinner at some place. There were free flow drinks and ice-cream, meaning we could stay there for a very long time, lol. After eating, we walked down to Music Essentials, just to kill time. Looked around, and went back. Movie was very thrilling and exciting. Ip Man's a really good show overall.

4th Jan, yesterday. Wee Ong's birthday, Happy belated birthday! Old liao, lol. Went for SWO rehearsal. First time seeing 7 horns in a rehearsal. Side read Rebroll, Cantiphonia, Bassoon Concerto, Atmospheres, and Queen Symphony. Had dinner with Mitchell and Mr. Ng at Northpoint's food court, walked around, then went back.

Today, I'm going to clean my incredibly messy room, which I have been procastinating since the end of O-levels(taboo words, haha). Also going to spend the day practising my new instrument (:

24 Dec, Wed

Christmas Eve. Had dinner with my family at Ju Shin Jung Korean Charcoal BBQ @ ECP. The room we were brought to was really big. The food there was great, though the portions of meat were quite small for the price. Apparently Koreans eat a lot of vegetables, cause there were plenty on the table. The flat metal chopsticks also needed some adjusting to, as they were pretty heavy. There was also a tray containing what seemed to be mints. It was actually wet towels which were dehydrated, so we had to pour water on it before it could be expanded. Anyway, its a nice place if you like Korean food.

25 Dec, Thurs

Christmas day! Went out with Angeline to VivoCity for a movie. She was 30 minutes late, so I went to get the tickets first, lol. Being christmas, naturally there was a lot of people there, so I queued for a long time. Got tickets to Yes Man. It was the front row seats, but the distance from the screen wasn't too small, so it was okay. Since we had some time before the movie, we walked around first. I wanted to shop, but of course I can't have people waiting for me right? Hahaha. Went to the arcade, played some games. Then walked around the Sky Garden and talked for awhile.

The movie was funny, as expected. Its a very good movie. Went back to Hougang by train. Good thing her house was on the same route as Melvins, lol. Went on to Melvin's place for his little christmas gathering. Daren, Shawn, Gerald, Louis, Gregory, and Kenneth was already there. Jing Rui came later. Ate PH/KFC, played PS2, and some cards. And Louis got drunk, lol.

26 Dec, Friday

Boxing Day. Christmas celebration at Mr. Ng's place this time. Went out in the morning to the NTUC next to Buangkok MRT to buy nuggets for the potluck. Bought 2 packets, costing $13.80 -_-. Spent about 1 hour frying them. Didn't do all of them though, since my container wasn't big enough. Then showered and rushed out to AMK hub to meet Freida. I was late for almost half an hour, sorry! Lol. She brought chicken wings. We took bus 24 to Mr. Ng's place. Called Jonas to wait for us at the bus stop since we didn't know where to stop. Shawn, Tiffany, and Cheng Fu were also waiting at the bus stop for us. Was one of the first few to reach there, before the committee of course(they stayed overnight). Had a lot of fun there. The dog, Pepper, was damn cute la. He was like licking everyone's leg and feet, haha. Left the place at 9.20pm.

27 Dec, Sat

NIESB concert. Went together with Shawn, Fikri, and Gerald. First met Shawn's friends at Jurong East, then moved on to Boon Lay to meet Alif, Ben, and his friend, Rytha. Took 179 to NTU's Nanyang Auditorium. Missed our stop, so we had to walk back quite a fair distance. Ended up missing the first song, haha. The concert wasn't really as good as I had expected, maybe it was the repertoire. Had dinner in the campus itself. Fikri and I had lasagna, and everyone else McDonalds. Mine was very wet and his was kinda dry. Regretted getting the pasta for $6.90 when I could have gotten a big mac meal for 5 bucks, haha.

28 Dec, Sun

Concert by Nakamura Gakuen Girl's High School and TKGS. Met Joel at Kovan MRT at 3pm. I was late, hahaha. Took bus to Ben's house. Played his trumpet and piano while waiting for him to prepare. Then we went down and Mr. Aw picked us up. Helped him with his phone on the way to VCH. TKGS performed first, followed by the japanese band. It was really a hair-raising performance lor. Both their playing and singing were spectacular. A very worth it concert. Went to Plaza Singapura with Ben and Joel for dinner. We ate at KFC, then went back.

29 Dec, Monday

Band in the morning. Jeremy, Melvin, and Jia Wei were also there. Mrs Chua from Marsiling Sec came down to teach the band. Had lunch at the McDonalds just opposite school with the 3, plus Louis. Then headed down to my place. Played PS2 and L4D. And they were really messing up my room, as if it weren't messed up enough already :D

At 5+, Jeremy, Melvin, and Louis left. I went with Jia Wei and Hong Zheng to Dhoby Ghaut cause HZ wanted to get an amp. from City Music at Peace Centre. Played at the arcade at the station first. When we finally reached Peace Centre at 7.20pm, we realised the shop had been closed for 20 minutes already. Walked back to Plaza Sing and ate at BK, then decided to watch a movie. Got tickets for Bedtime Stories and walked around a little before the show started. The movie was damn funny, even better than Yes Man, hahaha.

As promised, I'm back to blog about last week. It's a little late though. The memories are pretty vague, so don't expect too much details, lol.

12 Dec, Friday

4E2'08 BBQ @ ECP. Not many people turned up though, only half of the class. Walked to bicycle rental shop upon reaching there with Gregory, Russell, Jeremiah, Ivan, Gerald, Kenneth, and Rongli. Reached the first shop, but it was too expensive. 14 bucks for 2 hours?! So we went on to the next one, which was damn far away. Half of them gave up soon after and walked back, haha. Reached the second shop 1/2 hour later. We rented our bikes at a much more reasonable price of $5 for overnight(returned it at 10pm though), bought ice for the drinks, and went back. Come to think of it, we only rode our bikes twice. Towards the bbq pit, and back to the shop. At least it was cheap, haha.

Food was good. Mussells sprinkled with cheese and the hamburgers especially. The drinks cleared pretty fast though, and most of us were thirsty for the rest of the time.

At 9.30pm, went with Gerald, Gregory, and Russell to return our bikes. Took our time and used a lot of ulu roads, but we made it back just in time before they closed. Then the funniest thing happened. Since we didn't want to walk back to the pit(which would take 45 minutes), we went down to the ECP road(not the highway), and they tried to hitchhike passing cars by raising their right thumbs, lmao. Of course it failed, and after trying for 10 minutes, we finally flagged down a cab back to the pit. Only 1 buck per person, much more worth it than walking back.

When we arrived back, the rest were already finishing the last of the food. Oh, we didn't touch the two packets of potato we bought though. Cleared everything up, and the remaining 11 of split in to two groups. The hougang group and the serangoon+red line group? Walked opposite directions of the road I mentioned previously and we finally came across a creepy underpass 20 minutes later. Walked aimlessly until we saw a condo. Condo=cabs. Managed to get one almost immeadiately, and pooled back home with Alif, Melvin, and Gerald. Reached home around 12.

13 Dec & 14 Dec, sat & sun

SSW rehearsal in the morning. Can't remember much about the practice. But after the rehearsal, went to Mitchell's place for early christmas celebration. Took his bmw, along with Mr. Ng, Tian Ze and Eugene. Headed down to TZ's house first to get his stuff as he was staying overnight. The other group went by van. They went down to KFC to get our dinner first. We reached the house first, so we left our things there before going to 7-11 to get drinks.

Dinner was great. Chit-chatted all the way to somewhere around 10pm. The rest van-ned(pun intended, lol) back home. Spent the night there with Fikri and Tian Ze. Fetched Mr. Ng home first. Didn't really do much there. Washed his car, watched some TV, drank a little, and played Red Alert 3. Went to bed at 2+, but only slept at 3 due to mindless chit-chat. Shared a bed with Fikri, and it was annoying. Woke up at 8 at first cause he was starting to lean on my shoulder. Then went to sleep on a chair instead, much more comfortable, hahaha. Slept until 10am and the rest started to wake up. Not Tian Ze though, he woke only around 12.

Left the house about 1pm to serangoon to pick Mr. Ng up for lunch. We were running late for SWO rehearsal though, so we stopped by a McDonalds drive-thru. Headed to the CC for to eat. Again, I can't remember details of the rehearsal. Had dinner of laksa somewhere in Yishun with the yck ppl.

15 Dec, Monday

SSW practice again in the morning. Forgot what I did after that. I played L4D at night with Ivan and KO though.

16 Dec, Tuesday

Outing to watch Twilight @vivocity. Met Melvin, Ivan, and Shawn at GV to get the tickets. Then had lunch at Burger King. KO arrived then. Walked around vivo as there was still quite awhile. Got 2 basic tees at topman and Ivan got a pullover for his Japan trip. Headed back to GV to wait. Saw some MSSMB people, they were having a combined outing with SSSCB. Then Junjie, Jing Rui, Raphael and Rongli came, followed by Louis.

The movie was okay, better than I expected. The book is still more interesting though.

Went to Hougang Plaza for LAN games, played CS all the way. Alot of pros on the other side, especially Raphael, haha.

17 Dec, Wednesday

Band bbq at Melvin/Malgene's condo. Met Alif, Jeremy, Melvin and Jia Wei first at Hougang Interchange and went to Hougang Mall to get presents for the gift exchange. Wee Ong and Hong Zheng came later. We walked to the field beside the condo to play soccer. Then at 5, we went in and sat by the pool, waiting for the others. Soon grew tired though, and we went up to Melvin's place. Played WWE on PS2 and PSP? I went down first to eat, cause I had to leave early. Ate only a few stuff, not really worth 5 bucks. Well, at least I managed to sell some tickets. Left for SWO rehearsal at 6.30pm.

18 Dec, Thursday

YCKSB concert in the evening. Went to citylink early in the hopes of getting a pair of oxfords for the concert this sunday, which I failed to do. Called Fikri out for dinner but he was already with Mitchell and Mr. Ng and they were heading back to VCH. Decided to get some bread from BreadTalk as I have never eaten alone outside and do not wish to do so, haha. Walked to VCH while eating. Tried calling him many times when I arrived, but he didn't answer, so I waited outside VCH. Apparently, he was busy taking photos. Cheng Fu and Tiffany arrived first, so I went up with them. This particular concert was incredibly long... and boring, compared to previous ones. The concert lasted for 3 whole hours. Went for dinner/supper at McDonalds with Cheng Fu, Tiffany, Gerald, Xiaoting, Jonas, Cheryl, Esther, and Shawn.

19 Dec, Friday/yesterday

SSW's last rehearsal before the concert. Worked on NWS and sight-read our encore piece. Helped to fold the some 500 programme booklets for tomorrow. Had nasi lemak for dinner at a very inaccessible place in Chong Pang. The food was great though, especially the chicken.

20 Dec, Saturday/today

As you can see, I've had a super busy week. Today's my only free day, so gonna have dinner with my family at Vivo. Going to get my oxfords at the same time.

Damn, I've been really busy lately. The lack of sleep is causing me to get eye bags, lol. Must get rid of it before the concert this Sunday.

Anyway, I'll blog about the past weeks events soon enough. Going to meet some band alumnus for soccer and BBQ. After that, coming home to bathe before going for SWO rehearsal at night.

Hello, my blog seems to be on the verge of death. Blame it on having nothing interesting to post, haha. Not going much lately, except for band that is, not that it'll interest you guys.

Been doing quite a lot of reading lately(random). And thanks to Tian Ze, I can now play cs1.6 and cs:cz on my comp, yay. But theres only China servers, unless I use Garena.

Class BBQ this friday, can't wait. (; Oh speaking of class, I saw Ke Ping working at Causeway Point's Popular. His bright pink shirt made me notice him the moment I stepped inside, lol. Chatted with him for a while. Apparently, it was his first day of work, hope I didn't get him into any trouble, hahaha.

The new world

Helped out at Montfort Band's camp today. Reached the school at around 1pm to find them gathered at the foyer playing some bomb game. A few alumni were there too. Then the band went for combined. Stayed at the gallery teaching the juniors who got sent out.

Went in later to play their concert pieces with them. Then they went out to play games again at the parade square. More of the alumni came down and we went for dinner together at the kopitiam opposite school while the juniors were having their bath.

At 7pm, the band's first ever alumni band met. Quite a good number too, around 30. Saw many people whom I've not seen in a long time and some whom I've never seen. Side-read the pieces As the Moon Whispers, Animation Medley(nostalgic piece), To Challenge the Skies and Heavens Above, The Incredibles, Persis Overture and lastly Concerto Damore(another nostalgic one). We decided to play Animation Medley and Concerto Damore in the end, since we could only choose 2 pieces.

Later, we alumnus went down to the theatrette so we could introduce ourselves to the juniors. Well, not for my batch, since they already knew us. Had night walk later, I led one group around the school. Eugene(Melvin's cousin) kept hanging on to me cause he was scared by Terence earlier, lol -_-.

Anyway, it was nice too see such a good response for the alumni band. Hope its permanent and not only temporary. Sadly, the concert on Wednesday is Parent's night. Meaning, it's only for parents and not really open to the public, haha.

Tsk, I've been quite busy lately, being out most of the time. By the time I'm home, I'd be way too tired to blog so.... forgive me for not blogging so often. Not that many people read my blog anyway, though I'm trying to change that. Speaking about being out all the time, I'm really spending a lot on transport, up to $4 each day. I'm here to blog again. Didn't have time to blog as I was kinda busy the past few days, except for yesterday.

Brief details of what happened the past few days. Theres way too much to elaborate everything, haha.

14 Nov, Friday

School graduation! Met some of the class (Kenneth, Ignatius, Jing Rui, Jun Jie, Ivan, Shawn, Daren, Jeremiah) at 2pm before the event. Ran into Daren(actually, I didn't notice him until he called my phone) at Somerset MRT, so we walked to Cineleisure together. Watched them eat at Pastamania as I already had lunch at home. Since we still had plenty of time to kill, we walked all the way to Orchard MRT. Well, its not really far. Sat down in a corner inside the station and talked about random things.

At 5.30pm, we finally went on to YCK and walked to the Grassroots Club. If i recall correctly, we were the first ones there, besides the AV club. The event was pretty enjoyable, though the emcee was a little annoying at times.

And my table "won" the most number of things. 1st was when a teacher won a packet of chocolates and gave it to us(we were sitting next to their table :D), 2nd was during the 'Mr. Montfort' contest, and Kenneth got another packet of chocolates for participating(meaning.. he did not win). 3rd and lastly, was during the lucky draw which our table won. The prize was 9 cathay vouchers for a free movie. Coincidently, our table had 9 people, haha.

Some of us went to Dhoby Ghaut for a movie later, but didn't watch in the end. We played at the arcade until 11.45pm.

Playing continuous basketball for like 20 minutes thinking it was free... until Louis realised he left his card on the tapping thing.

15 Nov, Saturday

SSW in the morning. Received the scores for New World Symphony and rehearsed until lunch time. Then we had sectionals until 3pm. I did sectionals with trombones and trumpet. Embrochure still not really back yet, after the super long break.

After practice, some of us slacked in the studio listening to music and random stuff cause it was still kinda early. We had dinner at some kopitiam at Yishun. Then had dessert at the next block -_- Found out that there was combined practice the next day, so we went back to the CC to put our instruments. Went to Esplanade rooftop to chit chat, then finally went home.

Combined rehearsal for NWS, both SSW and SWO in the afternoon. Had dinner with some people at the same place as saturday. Went arcade for a while. Home.

Went to bowl with class people at Kovan. Only Melvin and Louis were there when I reached. The rest came one by one. Also played pool for awhile before going Sakae Sushi in Heartland Mall for buffet. Went to play LAN after eating.

11 Oct, Tuesday

Went for movie with class at Vivo. It was our first outing in quite a while. Anyway, Gerald and I were late cause we had an extra paper, so we met them just before the movie at 4pm. Watched Lake Terrace, a seriously weird movie. Well, it was something new. After the show, we shopped around for Louis's jeans. He bought 2 shirts from Topman instead, lol.

Walked to Paradiz Centre for LAN. We stopped at the Cathay first cause some wanted to eat, Gregory wanted to get new earphones, and Louis kept insisting on getting his jeans. It was a total waste of time as we didn't do any of that, LOL.

Moved on to Paradiz. Russell, Greg, Louis, Gerald, Shawn and I played LAN while the rest went down to McDonalds to eat. It was a great time, played CS and some 'Fight of Characters' on Warcraft. Got owned for the latter, hah.

Played all the way from 7.30pm to 10+. Surprisingly, I wasn't hungry :O The rest came to join us after their dinner.

12 Oct, Wednesday

Had my last paper that day! No more long hours of studying like a zombie, hahaha. At around 7pm, went to Vivo for shopping(for graduation night tomorrow). Got kinda drenched on the way from home to the mrt, cause it was pouring heavily. Even my umbrella almost got blown away, had to hold to the top of the spine, LOL. Met Nicole at dhoby ghaut gates to pass me some secret document -_- first, then went on to harbour front. Was feeling quite blur and tired at the time so got some bread from BreadTalk first, haha. Got a white shirt from Zara, a slim-fit grey pants and one basic tee, both from Topman.

Today

Currently burning(onto DVD-Rs) my large anime collection to make space for other things.

- Read manga
- Start reading Breaking Dawn

Hey people, I'm back from my eon long hiatus. I would first like to say that the reason for not blogging was purely because of study purposes, and not because I was lazy or anything like that.

those who know me well should know otherwise :D

Anyway, I went back to school for the last two days for band and a little studying. Managed to recover my embouchure after many months of not playing. And yesterday, I went to watch NCO POP 08 with Jeremy, Hong Zheng, Gerald, Melvin and Malgene. Mr Aw and Mr Chris Goh were also there. This year wasn't as nice as the past two years, but still interesting nevertheless.

Had dinner with my family at DTE's Sakura. There were many outbursts of the birthday song through the speaker la, at like 10 minute intervals. Realised there were many people there sharing the same birthday as me, mostly kids though.

Somehow, I'm still not used to blogging, hmm. Feels damn weird, haha.

Hey readers,

I'm flying off to Hong Kong tomorrow morning, yay. I'll be back on Thursday evening anyway. Anyone wants souvenirs?, cause I'm already going to buy some.

Went to SSW rehearsal yesterday. Drilled through Black Granite and some parts of Fribourg. And I realized that Fribourg is a really nice song, just that its a bit scary. There's like 6 gliss(es) up to high C continuously, a note which I don't think I have ever pitched before. 28 more days to NBC, 35 more to Konzert XV, and 39 more to SIBF.

Headed to Long John Silvers after practice for dinner with most of the band. Then we went to Jia Rong's house to watch movies. Watched Shrooms, a horror show which was not that scary. A lot of screams though by people playing heart attack in the other room, lol. The movie ended at 11.30pm. Went down to the bus stop with Jonas, Ernest, Meng Liang and Gerald after the movie ended at 11.30pm and went home.

Going to eat lunch with my family now. Then going to meet Ernest, Xiao Ting, Jonas with Gerald later to watch NPband's concert.

Went to Louis's chalet yesterday.

Daren, Shawn and Ivan went to get a cake for Kenneth Ong's birthday(belated) first at Hougang Mall, with the intention of smashing it in his face of course. *evil grin*

Met them, Jun Jie and Jing Rui at the bus stop opposite school at 3.30pm. Took 88 to Pasir Ris interchange, and KO was already on board. On the way, Daren checked the candles. Turns out the guy(selling them the cake) gave them 6 big candles. Obviously mistaken 16 for 60, haha.

Reached at 4.10, just in time for the shuttle bus to Aloha Loyang. But we wanted to get something for them(Louis's relatives), so we walked around White Sands to look for something. We didn't get anything in the end.

Then Shawn got a call from Louis saying that the shuttle bus could only seat 10 people. Went down to the pick-up point and saw a few people already waiting. Since we had like 7 people, and the next bus was at 6.45pm, we had no choice but to walk.

Led them to the chalet on an agonizing 45-minute walk. Halfway, this big dog from one of the houses suddenly barked at us, and they were like stunned. I wasn't, cause I remember the dog from the last time I went to Aloha Loyang. The dog wasn't leashed, and looked like it could jump out of the fence anytime. We were joking that we would be safe, cause Daren would be the slowest cause of his injury. So if the dog really jumped out, he would be the one being bitten/eaten, giving us time to run away. *ROFL*

When we finally reached there, Louis came to pick us up in his scooter, as in lead us there. When they said scooter, I still thought it was motorcycle kind. Laughed when he came, because it was the type like a mini skate-board with a pole and handle. Along with his height, he really looked like a kid la.

Arrived at the chalet. Wanted to go to the beach and rent bicycles. But Daren could not, so we went on to start the fire. Ate a lot of stuff. But didn't eat so much of the stingray, crab, and sotong, cause it was damn spicy.

Then at around 8pm, we took out the cake to celebrate. I guess KO was already mentally prepared for what was going to happen, since we were talking about it so much. So after the singing of the song, Louis had the honours. Pity it only hit the side of his face, but we are good people. I have the video, but you have to ask me for it. I'm not so evil as to post it online *PING, halo appears*. While KO was washing up, we helped plot for KO's revenge and the plan was spread to all except Louis(duh?).

So when we were cutting the cake for distribution, KO already had one cake in hand. Jing Rui kept repeating, "cut","cut,"CUT!!", but he was a bit blur and didn't get the signal. Jing Rui had to push his hand in the end. Louis got stunned for awhile, lol.

Then Louis's dad came and offer us some beer. Didn't drink as much as the rest. Me and Ivan drank only a few sips, Daren none at all. After all, wine is nicer than beer. Went back to the room and gambled a bit with 10/20 cents. Played blackjack and heart attack.

We also played a guessing game, "综计密码" in chinese. The forfeit was one mouthful of beer. Not as bad as last time when I played. We used to mix stuff like coke, lemon tea, ice cream, fries, chilli sauce, curry sauce, bread and more stupid stuff, haha. I only forfeited twice. We played until 10pm, then went back to the reception area to wait for the shuttle bus. We found out that the shuttle bus could actually hold 23 people, not 10. So we wasted like 40 minutes walking and risked getting attacked by a crazy dog, tsk. Thanks Louis!! (yeah, thanks for a fun day)

Dear ~~diary~~ blog,

had a class outing yesterday to watch Kung Fu Panda. Left the house with Gerald at 12.30pm to meet Melvin and Daren. I came from Buangkok and they boarded from Hougang.

They were like a few cabins away, and Daren kept looking at my direction/me, but couldn't recognize me. So he kept looking at me while calling my phone. In the end, Melvin was the smart one, haha.

We were the first group to reach City Hall. Melvin bought something from BreadTalk first. We were waiting there cause they were complaining that the station side no air-con, pathetic right? Their smart "plan" failed, cause the smell was making us hungrier by the minute, forcing us to go back into the station in the end.

When Jun Jie, Ivan and Jing Rui came, we went to Marina Square. Bought tickets for the 3.30pm show(which according to Daren is a smaller cinema than 2.20pm which means less laughter) and waited for Chong Jun and Kenneth before eating at Carl's Jr.

Went around to shop cause we had plenty of time left. Saw some people from E3 while walking. The show was quite funny, but not as funny as I expected, but still funny... right. It was short though. CJ, Daren and Mel went off first. KO went for tuition, and the rest of us went to play pool at Kovan.

And today, I went back for SSW rehearsal. I'm finally back in the band scene, after 1+ month(s). My skills and techniques has rusted, tsk. Going to be busy preparing for NBC, Konzert XV and SIBF, all in the same month.

Went to Vivocity just now to do some shopping. Didn't get anything in the end but Gerald got a pair of havaianas from NUM. Wanted to get a pair of plimsolls from River Island but there was no size. Shopping is fun, but only when you have a lot of money. Feeling so lethargic now, sigh.

Lessons as usual today. It was hard to concentrate due to tiredness. Good thing Mr Tan took over EL so lessons could end an hour earlier.

Yesterday, I went back to MJS to help out with Sir/Mr. Chng's study camp for his graduating class. Reached the school at 7.50am and only Jarvis was there.

First "job" of the day was helping him count camp money, haha. The students went up for their classes. Raphael came and we played a nostalgic game of hopscotch. We quit halfway to go up to the staff lounge though.

Sat around watching TV until more people came. We tried to find Sir but failed. Messed around while waiting.

At 11am, I changed to school uniform to go for my PTM at the secondary side. The meeting lasted around 10 minutes, then I went back to MJS and changed back before meeting the others at the rooftop. Cleared the weeds in the soil for the cultivation of rainbow corn. Ate our lunch of nasi lemak.

Later, Jarvis, Zane, Raphael and I stayed in the computer lab playing cards and PSP while the rest went to swim. After awhile, we headed to buy bubble tea at the shop opposite school. Jarvis went back for his PTM and we went on to the stadium next to the swimming complex to walk around. Zane showed us a carcass of a bird stuck in the netting of the roof, supposedly there for many years already.

Went back to school and played more cards and the rest came back. There was school the next day, which is today la, so I went home after dinner.

Today was POSed day.

It's post-education day in case you don't know. A day where some representatives from the various tertiary institutions will come over to set up booths and give talks on our options after the O-levels.

Reached school at 7.30am and submitted my bio file to Mr Azman's locker, then assembled in the foyer for attendance taking. After that, we proceeded to the hall. The event started off with a short prayer and a short speech by Mr Simen.

The guest speaker Mr Christian Chua spoke about "breaking through the glass ceiling". It was a very meaningful and humorous talk.

He focused on the word "MOTIVATION". If we were to break the word up,the word "motivation"comes from the word motive. And to be motivated,one must have a motive(a reason to). For example, a PSP may be used as a stimulus to do well for the exams. The reward is the "motive" or rather the stimulus to trigger he or she to do well.

What is the glass ceiling? It is basically our negative mindset which makes our mind think that it is there above our heads to prevent us from breaking away from our comfort zone.

This "glass ceiling" is placed upon us by others, because we believe in them. Let's say someone tells you will never be successful in life because you are from a poor family/a family of underachievers. Because you believe in them, you will not succeed.

Therefore, we must first break through this "glass ceiling". After all, no one can make you feel inferior without your permission.

Went down to the canteen to have our refreshments before going back to the hall for Mr Trevor's speech on the route to further education.

The next program for the day was presentations by the different schools and visiting of exhibition booths. Though I'm only interested in the poly route, I still went for talks by IJC, NYJC, and TJC.

Some facts about Direct Polytechnic Admission.

- The DPA is a newly introduced route.
- Only 100 places are available
- And candidates are selected through their"talents", which would be written in a summary of about 250 words on why he or she is a suitable candidate for the course of choice.
- Last year results would be taken into consideration though it would not have such heavy weightage
- Candidates will have 3 choices for courses they would like to apply
- Successful applicants will be called back for interviews
- Their "talents" must have some relation to their course they are applying for or they have some experience in that field.(e.g for computer courses,a candidate who has won a national competition in computer engineering would stand a better chance then another who did not participate)
- If candidate is given a place,actual O-level aggregate must be less then 26.

Yes, my blog is back from the dead, or hiatus rather. There is once again a change of URL, so please relink me again, haha.

I'm going to dedicate this paragraph to Daren, since he was the one who inspired the name. Well, not exactly. He suggested a lot of stupid names like garylovesgrapes, greygary, garysocute, anikadead(blogspot.com). Too bad I didn't use any of them. He also mentioned aiyahidunnowadurl.blogspot.com, which was quite funny. But enough of him.

The MYE is over and I have gotten back my results. Sad to say I'm not proud of even a single one of them. However, theres no use brooding over the past. Have to and am going to work harder harder harder. Taking O-levels this year and it will without a doubt be an extremely important step towards my future and life. Though I've said this many times, I really have to do it this time.

On a better note, the holidays are here.

Surprised? I'm now using the broadband internet access provided by the hotel to blog using my laptop. Well, not exactly(read on first) Sounds too good to be true right? Yeah, 1 minute of usage costs 1.53RM! Super duper ex la, so that's why i'm using Notepad to type this first. Clever right? hahaha.

By the way, I'm staying at the Seri Pacific Hotel(previously Pan Pacific Hotel) in KL. The room's design is damn damn damn nice. Using internet in the room is shiok lor, but not very wallet-friendly la. Too bad I can't upload any pictures now cause I forgot to bring the sync cable. Just wait until Thursday.

Went to eat and shop at Times Square just now. Shopped for 2 hours, ended up Gerald and I bought only 1 piece of clothing each. And realised something, Malaysia full of imitations, especially the shoes.

Woke up early(8am?) for the first time in days due to SSW rehearsal. Was quite tired, so I slept on the way to and in the CC, lol.

After warm-up, brass had combined while woodwinds did sectionals, and vice versa. Combined band after lunch for the first movement of both 3rd symphony and deux mouvements.

Took bus to Sembawang MRT with some people after practice, then headed to VivoCity for dinner. Jonas and Cheng Fu dropped off on the way, leaving Mr. Andrew Ng, Jocelyn, Tian Ze, Gerald, Ernest, Fikri and of course myself.

Ate at Banquet, then window-shopped around. We decided to have ice-cream at Ben & Jerry's. Shared with Ernest and Gerald. It's damn expensive sia, $13.80 for 3 scoops on a waffle, haha. Initially, we wanted to catch a movie, but it ran away too fast. Yeah right, we postponed it to a future date.

The holidays are here liao. But sec 3s have an Extended Instructional Programme, meaning 2 extra weeks of school for us. 'O' levels next year will be brought forward even earlier, so I suppose this will be beneficiary.

Got back our report books yesterday. Heard that everyone was able to promote to 4E2 next year. It's great if that is true.

Then, there was the impromptu class outing yesterday, decided during chinese lesson. This time, almost half the class made it. Met at Cineleisure, then headed to the Kopitiam nearby for dinner. Ate until 9pm, then we went up to the arcade. Ever since the last outing, we were like addicted to the hockey game. We changed the 17 bucks worth of ticket change to tokens and played all the way to 9.50pm, lol

We watched 'The Seeker', which was pretty much a lame show with a very predictable ending. Rating? 2/5.

It was almost 12am when we reached the MRT station. Saw the display stating that the last train would be leaving in 2 minutes, so we chiong-ed all the way down to the platform :D Got off at AMK and took taxi back to Hougang with James, Ignatius and Chong Jun.

Right, I'm finally back to blogging. Its been more than a month already. Time sure flies huh.

The EYEs are over. Band resumes next wednesday. I miss playing my horn, but I guess I can wait for the practice. The past few weeks were bliss, apart from the exams of course. The days were spent at home lazing around, cause nobody wanted to go out. Someone organize something please, there are still two more days.

Had a class gathering yesterday. Truth to be told, you can't really call it a gathering. Only 9 people went. Not like the rest knew about it anyway, haha. So, we met at Bugis MRT at 6pm. We wanted to watch Resident Evil. Everyone knows its NC16, but we tried anyway. Then the cashier person wanted to see all our faces. When Louis stood infront... you all should know what happened right, lol.

Ate at PastaMania before going back to try again. But the cashier person was still the same. Took the train to Orchard to try at Lido. We got turned away. Decided to walk to Cineleisure. Failed again. The person who created the saying "Third time's the charm" should be condemned. xD

We watched Voice of a Murderer in the end. The movie ended at around 12am, so shared cab home with Jun Jie and James.

It was fun today, as was yesterday.

Had combined band in the foyer today. Mr. Sukit made us do some tonguing exercises and scales while standing in a circle. This way we can listen to each other and play louder. Then when we sat down and played a concert Bb note, the intonation was very good. Like some kind of miracle method. Too bad it didn't last for long ,haha.

Did ensemble practice for the second part of practice. The Toccata in D Minor group disbanded due to difficulty of the song. Ended up without group, so I went to join the double brass quintet.

After band, went to Hougang Mall with Joshua, Ivan, Melvin, Gerald, Clarence, Kenneth Ang and Kenneth Ong. Had our lunch at Café Cartel. The food was great, and we had a lot of fun there. Played some number game while having ice cream. Basically, someone will write a number on a piece of paper. Each turn, 1 person will try not to guess the number. For example, number 7. Someone guesses 50. Then it narrows down, like 1-50, 1-28, 1-9 and so on. The unfortunate guy does a forfeit, which is drinking a few sips of a mystery concoction. We add random stuff each time like waffle, ice cream, tomato sauce, water, peach tea, lemon and who knows what. Then we stir it down until it becomes all liquefied. Played this for around an hour, so everyone had their fair share of the evil thing. In the end, the drink kinda tastes like alcohol, lol. Ivan and I gulped down the entire cup in the end.

A super funny conversation took place just now, when Kenneth Ong ordered his tea.

Waitress : You want it served now or later?
Kenneth : huh?
Melvin : Shao de or leng de? (hot or cold?)
Kenneth : Orh, Shao de.
Waitress : Don't have shao or leng de. Only got now or later.

Hilarious right?! We were bursting with laughter for the next minute or so.

Anyway, there are only 2 more days left. I swear I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. Then I should probably go into study mode once school starts again.

KCM SL Training Course - Day 1

Assembled at school before 8am. Were delayed a little cause some Kamal and Kenneth Ang were late. The bus journey there was super long, like 1 hour 15 minutes. So expectedly, we were damn late. Montfort band was the last to arrive, so it was kinda awkward entering the lecture hall with people staring at us. By the way, ACS(I)'s campus owns Montfort's many many many times.

The lecturer was Mr. Toshio Akiyama. First thing he did was show us a video and teach us about proper breathing techniques. Next, he taught warm up section by section, starting with the woodwinds. After a 10 minutes break, it was the brasses' turn. We did mainly lip slur exercises. Then, Mr. Akiyama combined the band. Just a random note, St. Patrick's brasses like to ~~blast~~ play excessively loud. Bus ride back was faster, around 50 minutes.

Except for Zhen Hui and Lemuel, all of us went to Hougang Mall's KFC to eat. Then someone suggested watching a movie, so we headed to The Cathay at Dhoby Gauht. Got tickets for Ratatouille. I treated Kamal, Kenneth and Joshua since they didn't have enough money on them, lol.

The show was so-so. CG food looked nice. The movie had a nice plot, but was a bit boring. We went back home after the movie.

I'm back from WindWorks, after going there to remove the dent from my horn's bell (see post). The repair cost was 50 bucks, much less than what I expected, hah. Mr. Yap talked to me like scolding sia, asking things like why never take care of my horn, why did it get dented and stuff like that. And apparently, Montfort is quite notorious for never paying up in time.

There was E Math lesson in the morning. Started chpt 9, Area and volume of similar figures and solids. Didn't understand for a good part of the lesson, cause Jeremiah was talking to me and someone kept sms-ing me, lol.

Great start for a holiday!

Teacher's day celebration yesterday. It started with Aces Day workout. Not much of a annual thing for us. Technically, ours should be 'Aces Days', since we do the mass workout twice a week.

Later, we went up to the hall for the second part of the celebration. First up was the award presentation ceremony for those who excelled in their exams the previous year. Then, there were some singing, by both students and the teachers. Quite meaningful la. The celebrations ended with a cake cutting ceremony, and a mass singing of You Raise Me Up.

Ate at McDonald's with some people before going to Punggol CC for soccer. Played all the way to 1.45pm. Then, walked back to the junior school with Terence, Aaron, Gerald, and Kenneth. The security was still as annoying as ever. Heard that they even quarreled with Daren and wanted him out of the school. Greeted Mr. James Chng aka. Sir with Aaron, then hung around for awhile. I went back first to prepare for the class outing.

Went to meet Terence at Hougang MRT at 4.45pm. He overslept, so we were late to meet the others. Arrived at City Hall and went to Marina Square. Spent another 15 minutes trying to find Seoul Garden, but turns out it was at the entrance where we came from, lol. Ate from 6 to 7.45pm. Jun Jie eat damn ~~a lot~~long man. Appetizer for 1/2 hour, main course for 1 hour 15 minutes, haha. And all of us were very lame, especially Terence. Fried egg, took the sashimi and prawn from the sushi to cook, and a lot of stupid stuff la. Some of us went outside to do pumping in the middle of our meal some more.

After eating, went up to GV Marina with Chong Jun to check out the show times. Since the earliest was Evan Almighty at 9.05pm, we watched that. Bought the tickets for them first and went back to meet them. Went to the science booths in the center to waste time. Spent most of the time playing with some electrostatic thingy. Think it's called a Wimshurst machine

Fine, I don't understand. But we had fun playing with it anyway. Turns the discs and somehow, static electric was produced. Then we like like transmitting it around through our fingers. (See picture below). And then we can feel this tingling sensation, lol.

The movie was funny, as expected. An ok movie overall.

Today's my 1 year anniversary at SSW. Actually, it's suppose to be tomorrow, but its a Sunday. Woke up early, and was damn tired since I came home and slept late last night. For today's rehersal, we worked on the first movement of Deux Movements. Then, we sight-read Vivaldi's Piccolo Concerto in C Major a few times. Finally, we ran through the second movement of Third Symphony before calling it a day.

The september holidays are here. One more day, to be exact. At least there are no lessons tomorrow. Will probably be going back to the junior school with some 6G-ians. I expect that the annoying security will not let us in until around 2pm, so thats like 2-3 hours of free time after the festives.

Got back my progress report yesterday. Did ok lah, better than the others. Failed 1 subject, Physics. The rest were not bad. At least half were higher than average.

Better start studying soon.

Hi people. To start things off, welcome to my new blog, and do leave a tag.

Many things happened today.

Firstly, there's yet another new junior in band. And guess which section he's in? If you guessed the trumpet section, give yourself a pat on your shoulder, cause you're right. Now I have 10 juniors to teach, omg xD

Secondly, I passed a fairly difficult E Math test, beating Melvin, Alif and 10 other people, who failed. Now my Math test passing streak is 3, or 4! I declare my math standard officially not the worst in the class.

Thirdly, the horn section is now unisex, or uni-section. We can play for both brass and woodwind quintets, haha.

Fourthly, there was a pumping frenzy during band just now. Since Melvin wants me to mention his name, I will. So, the whole band did many many many push-ups just now. Reasons are unknown.

Miss Ong asked me to go for the trumpet instrumental workshop. So now, three days of the september holidays are occupied. There's also lessons and all, so I guess it is not going to be much of a holiday. But I should be able to squeeze some time out. Does anyone want to plan an outing or something in advance?

The first session of drills in preparation for display band wasn't that bad. Just that even moving your fingers or hands can get you pumped. So throughout the practice, there were like people doing pumping every minute or so. Not that I disapprove; it's certainly a good way to improve the discipline of the band.

After band, some of us went to the court in Punggol CC to play soccer. Then, we went to Hougang Mall for lunch. Since we had quite a lot of time on our hands, decided to go to Vivocity to catch a movie with Joshua, Aaron and Gerald. It has been super long since the four of us went out together. I think the last time was during the end year holidays last year, haha. We were accompanied by Kamal for part of the journey there. He left halfway for home though. Anyway, the queue was damn long at the cinema. Wanted to watch Secret, but Joshua couldn't stay pass 8+pm, so decided not to watch anymore. Walked around around before going home. Kind of a wasted trip, lol.

Didn't get to play my instrument today, cause there were oral examinations going on. The band did maintenance and stock check instead. Some keys of the unused hanstone horn are now totally stuck due to long periods of un-usage, geez.

Going for the SL training course by Kunitachi College of Music on 7 & 8 september. Response from the band was quite good. About 20 are going, either for the SL course or instrument workshop.

There's a new member anyway, brought in by Jeremy Lucas and Chien Hui. Mr. Sukit torture me sia, put him in trumpet section. Now I have 9 people to take care of. Great...

Knights and the Princess

Went for St. Gabs band/vocal ensemble concert after band yesterday. As expected from a gold band/choir, it was a great concert. The band was very good, but somehow I still found the vocal ensemble more entertaining. I wonder when our band and choir can get along, especially after some recent disputes.

Daren's cast will be removed soon. So if I'm not wrong, we'll be moving back to our homeroom for lessons on monday. I know I'm being selfish, but I really like having lessons in the learning hub. Someone else go break a leg or something leh, haha.

Right, school starts again. Today was in fact quite slack. Free period, then Geography. Walked in the theatrette, and saw the big words 'GRADED TEST 3E1/3E2' on the board. Then we were like making a big fuss and complaining, haha. Turns out the relieve teacher mixed up the elective history class with ours. Thus, my second free period for the day.

Bio, Mr. Azman assigned us some work before leaving the class for awhile. Due to the noise level, he came back a bit earlier, obviously angry. So he scolded us. Then English, did letter writing, then newspaper, then letter writing again. Got 19/30 for test. It's not good. But then, the highest is only 20 marks. For E Math, learnt about bearings. And Mdm Lee moved me to the back of the class, in front of Ivan and Alif. Had fun teasing Ivan, lol.

The long break is coming to an end already. I quite enjoyed myself during the 'holidays'. Just completed all my homework. First time not doing last minute sia. Today has been boring, and tomorrow will probably be too. Someone ask me out leh. It's damn boring at home.

Went to Vivocity with Alif, Fikri and Gerald yesterday to catch Rush Hour 3. Saw friend 1 and friend 2 there. Anyway, the queue at the cinema was damn long. There wasn't anymore tickets for the 5.10pm show, so we had to settle for the 7.20pm one. Had like 4 hours to waste away, so we had lunch at LJS first. Oh yes, Alif is the biggest freeloader ever man. Got cash still act poor. Canceled off the 18 bucks he owed me just so came along. And Fikri had to treat Alif to the movie, for the second time! No sense of guilt ah you. Spent the rest of the time reading comics at the PageOne bookstore.

Rush Hour 3 was great, and extremely funny. Go watch and see for yourself.

I just watched the live telecast of NDP 2007 just now. This year's parade was held at the floating platform at Marina Bay cause the National Stadium is being torn down. Seating capacity has reduced greatly though. I've never been to a parade before, simply because I've never been interested. I remember in primary 5, it was compulsory to attend the NDP preview. NE show, I think it was called. That was the only time as far as I can remember, haha. This years show was quite cool though, with nice visuals and effects.The orchestra rocks also. Might even try to get hold of some tickets next year.

Just a dull, random post. I'm bored anyway. Anyone want to hang out tomorrow?

School was fun. Daren came back today, although his leg is still not healed yet. All lessons for our class were held at the learning hub, since it would be very difficult to move up and down the stairs.

Physics OA was ok. Though it's my first time completing all the questions, some is anyhow do one. Kinda wasted $1 buying the 30cm ruler. At least could draw the graph with ease, lol.

Went to school at 8.45am, and some people were already there. Jeremy Leong was outside the band room lying down, and phone charging next to him, look like camping lor. Opened up the band room and went inside to practice. Asked the clarinet junior, Fu Yuan to buy roti prata for me and he really did, so respectful man. xD

Spent the rest of the time greasing my slides, oiling and polishing my horn. The band fall-ed in at 10.45am and went in the band room for warm up. Was supposed to run through the pieces with the band but Daniel came in to conduct us.

After a quick stock check and briefing, we boarded the bus. Got down at Kovan Hub and did some warming up on our own. Then the time finally came to go in. Left our cases backstage and went to the front. I knew the stage was small, but was still quite fascinated. After putting the percussion instruments and straights (trombones and trumpets), theres hardly any space left, so we had to sit in front of the stage. The area is like damn small lah, so we have to cramp within a approximately 2.5x4m space.

The performance went better than I had expected. I had thought that the shoppers would be walking around and talking loudly, like in all malls. But they actually stood around quietly to listen to us, so the atmosphere wasn't too bad. Quite a lot of mistakes here and there, but it was acceptable. The endings could have left a bigger impact though.

Kept our instruments and went outside KFC there for lunch. McChicken burger and a cup of sprite from Yoshinoya, haha. Gathered again at 2.50pm and set up our instruments again for the second performance. This time Alif warmed up the band with a Concert Bb Major scale. Today like everyone stealing my job lah, -__-.

The second performance wasn't as good. Had to play from memory since my stand was missing. But Mr. Tan and Mr. Leow said it was good anyway. Got everything up to the bus and went back to school.

Thanks to all those people who came down to support the band today.

Don't be sad lah Ivan. I understand your pain, since Alif also kicked my horn, LOL. Your saxophone can and will be repaired... sooner or later.

Had the final rehearsal before the performance tomorrow. Did an hour of sectionals, and went back in for combined. We spent a lot of time on Star Wars, but still got everything done in the end. We shall perform well tomorrow! :D

Went to eat at Northpoint's KFC with Song Lin, Jolene, Cheryl, Siti, Gerald and Fikri after the SSW meeting. Song Lin was telling us a bit about the history of YCKSSSB. Being a member there so fun sia. Band classes instead of Art, Drama etc., sponsored school books, some book scholarship thing, and enormous band room with 9 air-cons. Like dominating all the other CCAs, lol. Nevermind, MSSMB is also cool in its own way.

As promised, here's the not-so-long awaited POP blog post.

But before we get to the good stuff, you must first understand the events leading up to the POP, which has little or no relation at all.

Could not finish my homework last night, cause I was playing DotA with SSW peeps. So went to school at 7.45am, and tried to borrow some friends homework for *cough*reference*cough*, but did not succeed though. Fortunately, part of 3E2 split up to different classes for Civic Moral Education lesson while the rest went to the school hall for mass. Went to Ms. Choy's homeroom where we did a reflection on a school-wide event. Finished early, and even got to finish up my Physics and SS homework, bwahaha. Which reminds me, I forgot to pass up my SS homework in the locker, shit la.

The homeroom system was frozen due to the lower secondary having their Art exams, so we went back to our homeroom for Chinese lesson. E Math lesson was next, and we started on Cosine Rule, which is damn confusing. Physics SPA was after recess. Did the mirror-reflection thingy experiment.

Just before band, some of us helped to bring down the instruments and chairs down to the foyer for practice. I guess it's to simulate the noise at Kovan Heartland Mall. Apparently we did not do well during combine, cause there's band again tomorrow.

At 5+pm, we went to change, and headed to the basketball court to await the start of the POP.

It's great to be back online! 2 days without the internet is boringggg~. I just asked my dad to help me a few minutes ago, and he told me to reset the main switch for the computer. Did that and tried to access the net, then woah, can work liao. To think the solution is so easy... at least I managed to finish reading the HP book while I had nothing else to do.

Headed to Sembawang for SSW rehearsal with Gerald. Got back my Egmont score from Hafiz, and had some self-practice. Then we left for AMK Hub with Tian Ze, Mr. Andrew Ng, Jonas and Alif to meet up with Fikri, the birthday boy. Went to the arcade first. Mr. Ng pro at Time Crisis lah, he didn't die till almost 1/2 an hour later. Mr. Ng left, and we walked to the Pizza Hut near the interchange for dinner. Fikri and Alif later went to watch the Simpsons at Jubilee while the rest of us went home.

I haven't been blogging for awhile, due to laziness. But, the past few days have been interesting ones. YRHD on Friday. Konzert XIV on Saturday. Didn't do much on Sunday, except read the last and final book of one of my favourite series, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows! Yeah yeah, don't say it's stupid.

And today during morning assembly, I was sitting with Terence and James on either side of me. Then those two bastards kept discussing about HP. Told them to shut up, but they went ahead and spoiled the ending for me, idiots la. That's one major downside of not finishing the book by the weekends, surely got people want to spread spoilers one.

On a lighter note, my class raised $799 for the racial harmony day last Friday, crowning us the top stall. Mrs Lee's classes have been winning for many many years already, funny hor.

Mass school workout in the morning. Then we had Physics. Mr. Khatib, a theoretical engineer from India sat in to observe the lesson, followed by CLB, Math, recess, English, A Math/free period.

Pure History was canceled due to reasons unknown, so I went for band early. Had sectionals for 1 hour, then foot drill for another. Then Ivan told me there were some people from SWO coming down. Didn't know to believe or not. At 5pm+, we went up to the band room. Imagine my surprise huh.
Tian Ze(Saxophone), Chen Chung(Trombone) and Timothy(Trombone) were standing there. Alif said there were 3 girls downstairs waiting also. But apparently girls can't enter the school, so says the security guard. That's one new fact I learned about the school today, lol. So they came to promote the upcoming concert, and the response was ok. The concert is sort of a welcome back for SWO. They went to Sydney this June for the 18th Australian International Music Festival and emerged overall champions for the Open Division. I think most Sec 3s are going. And there are some Sec 1s also.

Only 2 more days till the concert day. Can't wait.

Money woes

Splurged a lot recently. I spent $100+ in like 4 days, haha. It's money I've been saving for a new phone some more, T_T.

- Paid $50 for band uniform (Friday)
- Ate at KFC (Saturday)
- Bought some stuff at Popular (Saturday)
- YCK concert ( Saturday)
- Ate at the food court in Raffles City (Saturday)
- Bought a lot of food in SCC's cafeteria (Sunday)
- Went to LJS for early dinner (Sunday)

And today, school ended at 1pm cause of the 'O' level Mother Tongue Listening Compre exam. Went to AMK Hub with some of my classmates to catch a movie. But they wanted Transformers, so I watched Harry Potter with Joshua, Gerald, James and Jia Wei instead. As with all other HP movies, they cut out a lot of parts lah. I think those who don't read the book won't understand some things. So we walked around while waiting for the others to end their movie. Saw Gladys (P. High) and Fyon (Whitley). There was a lot of students there also. I guess AMK Hub is quite appealing since it's the newest mall around. Around 45 minutes later, they came out of the cinema. They didn't want to eat, so we just went home.

Now I'm quite broke, zzz.

Today's Q&A session for the Student Council President candidates was damn entertaining. The questions asked were very frivolous, but also very funny. My personal favorites are Justin and Saravanan. But Sara is a bit of a boot licker, so I think I'll vote for Justin tomorrow.

It stretched over two periods, so we missed the possibly Bio practical ; dissecting sheep hearts with bare hands! Chem practical was a breeze. Why can't Physics SPA be as easy?

Discussed the roles for the video thing during IT lesson. My group name is Random 5, cause we simply assigned numbers to ourself and use the random function to select our roles, haha.

Great day... no homework. :D

Valor @ Montfort, the e-gaming centre officially opens on Friday. Being the only school to have one, there'll be a press and live telecast. Too bad theres band on that day, haha.

It's 07/07/07. See, today is so special, haha.

It was raining in the morning, so I suppose that's the reason we didn't do foot drill. Most of the Sec 3s were not there either due to the fact that they had the Youth Rally or A Math remedial, so I took charge. Mr Sukit arrived at 9am, and we started off the practice with singing, then warm up. Did PotC later.

At 11.45am, I left with Alif and Gerald for SSW rehearsal. Reached there just before we went off for sectionals. Brass and Woodwinds were at separate rooms. Half an hour later, we went back to the music studio for combined. Finished 70-80% of Aroldo. There's only 1 more rehearsal left. It's going to be my 5th concert. Also my 5th concert at VCH. I hope to be able to play with SWO at the Esplanade next year. I think I'm going to be the only hornist for SSW this concert, -__-.

Band is becoming a miserable place to go to. MSSMB, I mean. Maybe it's because of the teachers. Or maybe it's because of all the stress. Maybe both. 2 juniors quit today.

The band has become something different already. It's not quite like what I used to know la.

Band matters aside, we had the Internal Assessment for Physics SPA just now. Had to report to the Physics lab at 11.45pm, in between our recess. Mr Tan only turned up 15 minutes later, but at least we had some time to revise our notes. Pendulum experiment again. But this time, we had to find out gravitational acceleration as the string gets shorter. I didn't know what to do, cause we were suppose to make the pendulum bob oscillate in circles. And whenever I tried, it kept hitting the table. Since I couldn't get any data, I fabricated my own, lol.

Youth Day was yesterday. It's good to have a break on Mondays for a change. Didn't do much at though. I simply used the computer and watch TV during the day, and did my homework at night.

First period of the day was P.E, where we had the class soccer 'tournament'. We called our team Melvin's Knights. Don't ask why, it's just for fun. Initially we wanted to use Busthird, but it was rejected by Mr. Toh. So my group (Melvin's Knights) vs. group 4 (Anything). Brimming with certainty of our victory, my team won, with the score 1-0. And I scored the winning goal, yay. It's not a very evident win though. Will try harder next time. :D

The originally English period at 2.30pm was canceled cause of the Life Sciences thing, so we had a free period. Tried the $1.50 for two scoops ice-cream the NCC were selling. Then at 3.45pm, we went up to the Bio lab. We were to do DNA extraction from banana slices. I remember doing this before, like in P6, but I forgot the steps, haha. Paired up with Ivan to doe the experiment. It ended at around 5pm, and we were dismissed.

A new school policy was declared this morning. We are allowed to wear ankle socks on Fridays. But it doesn't affect us upper sec students in any way, cause we already already do. Let's hope next time can wear black shoes also, haha.

Had the first IT lesson today at the Valor @ Montfort room, the same room being used for the e-gaming. There were like 50 iMacs inside lah. Then the teacher kept saying, "This is a razer mouse ah. If anything happens to it, you guys have to pay up $75". In actual fact, it was just an apple Mighty Mouse.

Anyway, we're doing Videography. Formed my own team of 9 liao. Over the next few weeks, we'll be doing videos/movies. Best entry will be sent for competition, and the best video will win the school and the team $10,000. I want!

Wah, I am damn suay lah. During SYF this year at SCH, someone kicked my almost brand new 1-month old horn and there was a minor dent on the bell. And yesterday, Alif and Melvin were fooling around in the band room when Alif inadvertently kicked my horn. The bell hit the chair, and when I got to it, there were two large dents on the bell. Apparently it's my fault since I left it on the floor, just like during SYF, where everyone else also did. Why am I so unlucky such that my instrument is the only one that got kicked? Miss Ong says the next time it gets hit, she will take away my precious Hanstone horn and give me the old horn. Furthermore, I have to pay for the repairs. Probably heading to WindWorks with Alif next week to get the dent removed.

Went to the McDonald's near school yesterday morning to meet Joshua and get some homework done. Andre and Aaron came by later. I finished E Math and half of English. It took four hours, so that's not much of an accomplishment. Matrices just takes so damn long to complete.

Took bus 161 to Compass Point cause Aaron and Joshua wanted to patronize the arcade. We headed to the Time Zone at the basement first. Played some basketball and Time Crisis 4 then went up to the other Time Zone on the third floor for Drum Mania. Then Aaron played Percussion Master with this young kid. This kid beat every other challenger except Aaron, who owned him. So he kept taking money from his dad to try and defeat Aaron for like 45 minutes. Finally he gave up and left, hah!

Aaron's friend whose name I do not know, joined us. We were going to study, but then decided not to in the end. Andre went home, and we went to Pizza Hut for dinner.

Took bus home after that.

Oh yah, I saw quite a lot of people today. Saw James in McDonald's. Saw John/someone who really looks like him from the bus outside Compass Point. Saw Jarvis and Kelvin from 3E1 in the arcade. Didn't expect that right, haha?

Yesterday's class barbecue was great. Since it just popped up all of a sudden, only around 15 people turned up. Nevertheless, it was good fun. Thanks guys! (and in Mrs. Lee's case, lady)

So at 6.30pm, my parents went to pick up Alif, then Terence and Jun Jie and drove us to East Coast Park. Being the first to reach there, we cleaned the table and lay down all the stuff. Ivan and gang arrived with the charcoal awhile later. Then we started off with the BBQ.

Few days left, and I still can't get out of the holiday mood. Woke up at 8.30am(very early for holidays) today for English lesson and the first thing I did when I got back home was sleep, wah.

Had a discussion with JJ, JR, Ivan, Alif and Gerald after class about having a class BBQ. We spent 1 hour in the study area discussing all the details. So we decided on having the BBQ at East Coast Park tomorrow. Super duper impromptu lah! Had doubts about who would actually go, but we still went ahead anyway.

We walked to Hougang Green to use the AXS machine there to book the barbecue pit. Then we had lunch next door at Long John Silvers while calling people up. Wrote down the things we needed to buy then went up to Shop & Save to purchase them. Everything amounted to $114, haha. Gerald paid the money and we went back home.

Let's hope tomorrow will be a success.

I've just memorized 3 minor scales, namely concert F, G and D minor, but only the harmonic minor part. Thanks to the scale book for horn I bought last year. I still don't get the steps for melodic minor scale. Still an achievement though, yay. 2nd movement of Third Symphony isn't as hard as I though, but still difficult. 1st movement the worst lah, so many accidentals all over the place.

Theres only 9 more days till school starts again. 3 weeks passed so quickly, with band and stuff. How unbelievable. I was supposed to go out a lot during the holidays, yet I only went out like 4-5 times so far. Better make full use and enjoy whats left of the holidays while I still can.

So... anyone want to go out? Movies, shopping, homework-ing, or just plain walking around, just call me.

Hound's Tooth

Just came back from the so called 6G reunion. Ever since our graduation in 2004, someone will organize movie outings every now and then. For today, we watched Shrek 3.

Met at Hougang MRT at 12pm. Wee Ong, Jing Rui, and Clarence were already there when I reached. Waited for Hong Zheng and Daric before boarding the train. Then we stopped at Serangoon MRT to wait for Ivan, the tardy one. Supposed to meet at 12pm, he still at home, hopeless lah.

Got off at Orchard. They decide to watch at Cineleisure, so we walked to Somerset. After spending 5 minutes choosing between Ocean's Thirteen and Shrek 3, we finally got the tickets for the latter. Went down to the food court for lunch.

Clarence wanted to buy a bag at Far East Plaza, so we walked back to Orchard. We went in Level One @ Far East Plaza and into a shop called Hound's Tooth. The bag $62, and Clarence tried to bargain down to $55. In the end, he got it for $60, lol.

Walked back through Orchard Road a third time. At last, we entered the cinema. The movie was nice, especially the ending. I wonder why most movies stop at the 3rd sequel. Anyone know the reason?

The movie ended at 5pm. Went down to Heeren and spend a long time at HMV. After which we headed to Takashimaya. Again, we spent a long time there doing nothing in particular, except walking. Later, we took the MRT back and bid our farewells before going our seperate ways.

Yo. It was a great day at Sentosa yesterday. But I don't mean it literally, cause the sun's rays were relentless. All the way from the morning in the school car park all the way to the evening in Palawan Beach, it was damn hot. And don't even start mentioning the vitamin D crap. It only takes 10 to 15 minutes in the sun to get the body it's Vitamin D requirement.

The foot drill assessment was poorly done. Sec 3s were tested individually, and the sec 1s and 2s in groups. I recall making 2 mistakes. Not looking straight ahead and sometimes not saying the timing. Fail liao. The new DM better be a Sec 3. I can't imagine seniors taking orders from a junior.

I need to start on my Math homework now. I'll blog about the rest tomorrow, I think.

There was a practical music test today. Too bad it went section by section. I hate it when someone get my hopes up, and then I end up being let down. Like today, there was suppose to be a test for seniors, individually. It was canceled for some reason.

Anyway, the test started off with aural singing. My turn lasted for only 5 seconds, and I suppose that is a good thing. Then we did scales and 12121 thing.

Later, Terence read out the results. No one got an A, but 4 people got a B. They were Alif, Zhen Hui, Alvin and myself. This judging isn't really fair, since the only part we did alone was the aural singing. I feel that some people should have gotten higher and some lower. The next test is somewhere in August. And next time, it will be individual! There will be a sight-reading piece, set piece, and choice piece. More scales also. Now lets just hope Mr. Sukit sticks to as planned.

At 12pm, we went down to the foyer for foot drill. We foot drill-ed like never before, because the test is tomorrow, and I guess no one wants to fail. But it's damn strict lah. 1 simple mistake equals to a fail. And if we fail, there's no chance of getting a good post. The one with the top score becomes the next drum major, be it sec 1, 2, or 3.

After band, I dragged my lethargic self and my horn to the bus stop. Took 74 to AMK and then the MRT to Khatib to meet Hafiz. Why? I was collecting the tickets for the OPWO concert. My first time being to Khatib, and I must say that exploring a new neighbourhood is quite fun. So with some directions from Hafiz, I walked through Khatib Central and into Yishun Street 81. I was surrounded by a sea of HDB flats, but I aimlessly continued to walk straight, haha. Then I saw something which looked like a school, and I went to get a closer look. Luckily, it was OPSS. Got the tickets and headed back to the MRT station. I was thirsty then, so I bought a drink from 7-11 before heading back to Hougang.

Ok, I slept for 3 hours just now. But I'm still tired, and I need to be alert for the test tomorrow right?

Lets see... Here's a summary of what I did from yesterday to today.

- Went to school at 9am for E Math lesson

- Ended at 10am, when I suddenly decided to attend the camp

- Prepared the drinks for the students and slacked off in the staff lounge

- At 1pm, a few of us went down only to find out there wasn't any food left because lunchtime was at 12pm

- Went home to take clothes, eat, bathe, and soccer ball (which is apparently still at MJS)

- Back at school, helped to boil water at the science lab for the students.

- Soccer at quadrangle and than car park.

- More staff lounge

- At 6pm, we went down for dinner.

- Comp. lab was then open, so we went up to find our spots (computer & sleeping area)

- Computer. Watched Romeo X Juliet

- Cup noodles and milo/coffee/milk tea for supper at 11pm

- Watched D. Gray Man until 2.27am

- Slept from 3am-5am on the table

- Watched Deathnote the movie till 7+am

- Breakfast (cup of milo for me)

- Continued watching D. Gray Man all the way to 10.30am

- Took pictures with the class (pictures taken by Jeremy Leong, the non MJS-ian)

- Chatted with Sir outside staff room

- Went with the others to the bubble tea shop, where I got a peanut waffle.

- Walked home

- Slept from 2.45pm to 7.50pm.

Yo, remember the camp last december for MJS's graduating class of 6A'06? There's another one again. But now, it's a study camp for 6B'07. Being the *cough*role-model students that we are, Mr. James Chng (aka. Sir) has called us back to help. The camp lasts till tomorrow at 11am.

So right now, I'm in the computer lab. Now its 10.39pm. Alif is going home at 8am tomorrow, so I'm probably going to follow him back. Frankly, I'm tired of this place. There's only around 9 hours left. Currently re-watching Romeo X Juliet on http://anitube.blogspot.com. And I'm going to watch D. Gray Man and Claymore later.

It's 2.27am now. 1/2 of the class sleeping liao. The rest doing lame stuff, haha. I just finish 8 episodes of D. Gray Man. Think I'm gonna catch some shut-eye now.

Second day of day camp at Whitley yesterday. Went to school at 7.45am to help out with the band. But Jia Wei and I had lessons later on, so instead of getting on the bus, we went to Hougang Mall before our class. Then at Hougang Mall, there was this lady(probably a foreigner or a migrant) who wanted to use my phone to call her husband or something. She uttered some foreign language and the only words I understood was "phone" and "husband". So I let her. We went down to McDonald's, where we were joined by Kenneth Ang and Joshua, who also had classes later at 11am. And after having our breakfast, we headed back to school cause I had an English lesson at 10am.

After waiting outside her classroom for quite awhile, Mrs. Lee finally came. With food some more, for those who hadn't had breakfast. Some kind of pancake lah. For the lesson, she ran through some notes on essay writing. I didn't really pay attention, cause Zhen Hui keep asking me about stuff like scales and time signatures, hah.

After class, we went to the foyer to look for Mr. Tan. He wasn't there, so some of us went to find him in the staff room. Then the mini bus/van headed to Whitley. Had lunch before going to the band room to set up my instrument. We played Star Wars for combined practice, all the way till 4pm. By 4+, those who were going for the concert at NYJC fall in-ed at the carpark before going up the bus.

We reached at NYJC at around 4.25pm, quite early. Saw Clement there. Terence distributed the tickets just before 5, then we went in. Our band took up the first 2 rows. The concert was fantastic! Tone and balance, no problem at all. And for a band with only 20-30 people, they were damn damn loud, which isn't a bad thing. The emcees were very entertaining. IMO, most desirable section was the trumpets.

After the concert, most of the Sec 3s walked out the Ave 3 way to the bus stop. Jia Wei, Ivan and Jeremy got on 105 back. The rest of us took 159 which goes back back to Hougang Ave 9, in hopes of finding a place to eat. But alas, the bus was going the wrong direction towards Bishan. But thanks to Hong Zheng's great navigational skills, we ended up in AMK hub. At least there is a food court there. The food there is very ex, but we still went there to eat before heading home.

There's English lesson/remedial tomorrow from 10-11.30am. And there's the day camp at Whitley again tomorrow from 8am-5pm. Mrs. Lee says if we really can't make it for the eng lesson, we don't have to come, or something like that. In the morning, they'll be sectionals with the tutors. I want to go lah, but I'm stuck with class. Alif probably isn't going for the lesson, since he supposedly very pro liao.

Aiya, Ms. Ong asked me to come down tomorrow in the morning to distribute the rest of the band t-shirts. I'll see then whether I want to follow them or go for lessons. If not, I'll just go McDonald's or Hougang Mall to hang out for awhile before class.

MSSMB's Drumline-in-training

Right. Today there was a combined day camp with Whitley Sec. So after classes for E1 and E2 were over, we boarded the bus for us leftovers. We arrived around 12pm, just about time for lunch. Malay food lah, don't really like. But still ate it up quickly and went up to the hall to practice Third Symphony. Alif was there already, practising his solo part for 2nd movement. For some weird reason, my embrochure seems to have changed, and I can't change it back. Probably explains my crappy playing during the recent SSW practice.

For the combined practice, we started with warm ups and a singing exercise. Then we tried out some chorale piece. Unable to move on further than 6 bars, Mr. Sukit broke us up for sectionals. The horns did sectionals on the stage. After half an hour, we came back together for to try the chorale piece again. This time we managed to finish the first part. But by then, it was time to go. So we left our instruments in the Whitley band room and went up the bus.

I had to sit with Miss Ong to do some admin thing for the band t-shirts, bleah. Back at school, the band went up to the gallery for fall-in while I went to the store room to get the shirts. Some seem to dislike the design at the back la. Myself included, haha.

I went to SSW practice yesterday after around, 2 months? The last time I went there was 2 weeks before SYF. Then we had exams, so couldn't make it. As far as I can recall, I only went there 5-7 times this year, the fault of so many band and school events taking place on Saturdays.
I used the CC's H179, which I didn't quite like. It had slow and noisy keys, and it didn't feel like my own -_-. I practiced the fingering during the long exam break, so it wasn't a problem. The problem was practicing, which I couldn't do due the the absence of my horn. So, I expected a lot of 'scolding' from Mr. Ng. And he did, ranging from tonguing to not using enough air to volume. I'm sure the volume thing wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't the only hornist all the time, haha.

Attendance was bad lah. Two clarinetists (Fikri and Gerald) came down but both didn't have instruments, so they just sat around reading scores. We went through Deux Movements first. I screwed up from the first few seconds, counting the wrong time signature :D. The second movement, Caprice was better.

I nearly died in 3rd Symphony. We started with the fourth movement, Finale. At the start the horn's dynamics is fortissimo. Being the only hornist, it's either I reach that volume but cannot pitch, or pitch properly but cannot reach that volume. Die right? I had to repeat it for around 10 minutes until I finally got it correct.

Aroldo wasn't so bad lah. But instead of an orchestra-style playing, we played it like a wind band piece.

Just like any other last day before the school holiday, there was a parent-teacher meeting today. Before I went to school, Joshua told me on MSN that his level rank was 165/190. Scare me for nothing, since he passed MYEs and I supposedly failed. I thought my rank would be 180++ lah.

Was very surprised when the report card stated I passed MYEs. Apparently, they only take Math and 3 other best subjects. But the overall percentage still 47.5% lah. Mrs. Lee advised me to form 5-men study groups to go through Physics. And I better start practicing my Math during the 'holidays', cause fail E Math = ITE, shit.

1 last day till the 1-month long holiday starts. This week was bad. I assumed that there would be at least 1 post-exam activity before the holidays. Wishful thinking, hah.

Yo, I have a not so good reason for not blogging these past few days. I was playing Ragnarok Online, an old MMORPG based on Norse Mythology. But if you still want to blame anyone, blame Kenneth and Ivan for influencing me, wahaha.

I like Tuesdays, because the typical day has only 3 lessons, 1 free period, and 1 assembly. Today wasn't an exception. CLB lesson was canceled so I went with the CL class. Luckily I brought a book to read.

As for geog, the theatrette was being used so we went down to the learning hub, again, but no boring video this time. We did an overview of rivers before watching a relatively interesting video on the Niagara Falls. Actually, the only thing that caught my interest was this interview with Micheal Daugherty. Apparently he was inspired by the massive waterfall that he composed a band piece for it. Got sample of the music also, nice leh.

Assembly started with some korean tv ads being shown on the screen which was then followed by some students presenting something on korean culture. The presentation was bad. I can criticize more, but my junior was one of those presenting, so there. The last part was fairly entertaining. Some foreign students from Korea and Thailand were called up to teach the basics of their language.

Pure history was very interesting. We started on a new topic, something about the rise of Hitler. For some reason, it felt like damn long in there, like 2 hours la. And we were released 10 minutes earlier some more. Something must be wrong with me.

It's 10.05pm now. I should be off completing my math homework now,

I went to the library for the first time in years today in an attempt to improve my English. I think that I may have forgotten about the marvelous splendor of books, haha.

Alif brought the Da Vinci Code to school today. At first, I thought he was damn outdated, until he told me this was his 17th time reading it, LOL.

My MYE results sucks la. seeee,

English - 55.8%
E Math - 25.5%
Pure Physics - 32.3%
CS (Bio & Chem) - 57.2
CH (SS & Geog) - 54.9
Pure History - unconfirmed

I passed 3 out of 6 papers. Thank god I'm taking CLB, which I passed easy.

Meet-the-parents session is on next Friday. No school!

Woah, I got a 12/25 for English paper 2 (excluding summary), that's a first. I made the stupid mistake of being super kiasu. In actual fact, the answer was so obvious, right there in my face. Then I kept thinking, "This is Sec 3 liao, how can so easy? Must be a trick question, better don't write that.". In the end, my paper got full of crosses, haha! Luckily still have the summary and paper 1. Not confident about them though. This better not be the first time i fail English.

Then we got back chemistry paper. Good thing bio and chem are combined, so I managed to finally scrape a pass this MYE. Yeah, 1 pass this MYE. But I've still yet to get back SS and English paper 1.

During MS@M period, we discussed about school policies that can be changed, which will then be presented to Mr. Simen next week. This is what S3E2 came up with.

1) Subject combination (proposed by Daren Ng and Shawn Ng).

He claims that people who are not good at pure science, like everyone else, should not be forced to take the subject. And someone else asked for more variety of subjects like POA, D&T and F&N for E1 and E2, wth!

2) Toilet on 4th floor. Ruled out by Mrs. Lee as apparently, it is impossible, lol.

3) Homeroom system during exams (proposed by Nicholas Low).

Nicholas : "During exam time, should go other classes la, instead of our own. Cause they got air-con, we don't have. Later people sweat then very hard to concentrate you know?"

Rest of the class : "AH GUA!!! HAHAHA!"

4) Strictness of Grooming Check, Uniform Enforcement (proposed by Nicholas Low again)

Nicholas : "You see 3E1 and 3E2, our grooming checks are damn strict, compared to the rest of the classes". I totally agree with this la. But I'm saying ours should be more lax, not theirs stricter.

5) Toilet Paper in the toilets (proposed by Nicholas Low once again)

Nicholas : "The school should put toilet paper in the toilets cause the vending machine very inconvenient. Later no coins or if the shit coming out already how to put coin in and turn turn?".

Too bad Mrs. Lee didn't find any of them applicable, so we got scolded -_-.

Oh yes, we're forbidden from speaking any languages other than English in the homeroom now.

We got 3 new scores today during band. John Williams Symphonic Soundtracks, Mission Impossible Theme and Sesame Street Selections. For the sake of the juniors, we started off with Sesame Street. Sadly, we didn't manage to cover more than 10 bars before we had to go down the basketball court for foot drill, which was taken by Mr. Gavin, Daniel and Sean. 1 hour of foot drill for every practice from now on in preparation for next year's SYF, damn.

Just got back 5 papers today.

Wait, was it? CLB, E Math, Pure History (MW), Physics, and Bio. Yes, 5...

I passed CLB and Pure History, so 2/5.

Frankly, I feel very disappointed in myself, studying only the day before the exam, for 2-4 hours. And it's impossible to study in my house la. PC and TV so tempting la, cannot help it! I really really want to work hard, but doing that alone is hard -_-.

Miss Tan brought us to the learning hub to watch a quite boring 40-minute video on rivers during geog. The background music was nice though, orchestral! And she asked who wanted to participate in this 'Green Spelling Bee' thing. Got S$400 to be won leh. I want, but too bad no partner.

Band practice was spent doing maintenance on our instruments and washing the band room. And I was so looking forward to playing my horn again, bleah. But I'm also glad I could maintain my horn. 2 weeks ago, I needed slide grease quite desperately but there wasn't any at hand, so I was left no choice but to just leave it in the case, hoping the slides wouldn't get stuck.

At 1.20pm yesterday, I headed down to Hougang MRT with Gerald. Next to arrive was Joshua, followed by Joseph and then Jun Ming. Down at the platform, Aaron and Benedict came.

In VivoCity, we met the rest. And since we had a good 3 hours before the movie started, we went up to the arcade to kill some time. Then we split up to go our separate ways. We had plenty of time left, so we made some lame videos. You can watch them below.

At 4.50pm, we met up again, bought our food and entered the cinema. The movie was nice. In one part, the symbiote turned Peter Parker emo. Got emo hairstyle, black clothes, and black eyeliner, damn funny la. But I won't say anymore, so I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen the movie.
